Media theoretical frame work
Media language
The way in which language is used to show media to the audience. Fore example sign and puns can be used to show the mood of the media.
media language can also be represented through body language in this magazine cover of Nicki Minaj she is standing tall this shows that she is proud. also she is slightly looking down on us to show that she is better than us. Also the way in which they have chosen to dress her in white and jewels shows her status.
other examples of media language are lighting, setting, weather etc.
Media representation
This is the way media uses stereotype's to represent different groups, community's and ideas. different sighs, symbols and colours are used to allow the viewer to make assumptions on the information.
Look at the difference in the two magazine they both use colour and symbols to entice their audience. girl talk is a magazine targeted at young girls so they use pinks and purples and well as symbols like flowers. However Game pro is targeted at boys and uses more blues and reds.
Media context
Media context looks at the deeper meaning of the media form; this could be according society, culture, history and politics. Media context allows the viewer to relate to the media form.
Media audience
This focuses on how the media forms address their target audience. Media audience also focuses on what the media do to entice the audience an how the audience react to the different media forms.
These are both pop magazines but it is evident that they are targeted at different age groups. Girl talk is a magazine targeted at young girls and billboard is for a more mature audience.
